David Freeman
David Freeman is a computer professional with over 30 years of experience in the computer industry. He has vast experience in research, web development, multimedia development, and information systems management. David Freeman started his career working as an intern at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory where he assisted in assembling computer systems used to process experiment collision events. He went on to work as an application support engineer at NEC corporation, where he supported the world’s first laptop computers. From NEC he went on to Argonne National Laboratory and worked on the Advanced Photon Source project as a software developer, and IT support engineer for seven years. He then moved to Miami, Florida where he worked at Florida International University at the Hemispheric Center for Environmental Technologies as a Project Engineer for two years. As this was the time of the Internet boom, David took a chance and joined a few start-ups, serving as Vice President of IT for an Internet marketing firm; software engineer for an Internet gaming company; and finally settling at The Children’s Trust where he served as an Information Systems Specialist for two years. David observed an opportunity to go back into research and accepted a position at the Miami VA Hospital as a software engineer and data manager working on web and virtual reality based medical applications for seven years. David holds a master’s degree in computer information systems and is currently serving as Director of Information Technology and Data Management Services for a growing Miami-Dade non-profit organization.
